I'm Malik.

I'm a New York-based motion designer and filmmaker.

I'm currently a senior motion designer at Mashable, where I've been designing, animating and illustrating news-related stuff since early 2017. I also make a (sorta) weekly animated series.

I was previously lead motion designer at NowThis, a national editor at Next Animation Studio (better known as “that famous Taiwanese animation company”) and was also part of a small team at Reuters that put together an award-winning app on China’s political system.

I'm partial to minimal, bold graphics and comedic, music-driven work. I also like puns and would greatly appreciate any that are sent my way.

I'm originally from East Africa, was born in North America, raised in Western Europe and spent my formative working years in East Asia.

In case this site's web address causes confusion, Malik is my first name, I'm just a fan of alliteration. Which also explains why I do motion at Mashable.

I hope you don't read too much into the fact that all the above sentences begin with "I".
